  Drapery King was the only place I could find in the Toronto area that carries extra wide rolls of blackout cloth, which is one of the best materials for homemade projector screens. Plenty of places carry it in 55" widths, but that's only big enough to make a ~100" (diagonal) 16:9 screen. Drapery King has it in 110" wide rolls, so you can make a screen measured in feet instead of inches.
  
  When I asked about blackout cloth, the owner guessed right away that I was building a DIY projector screen, and had some helpful advice for working with the material. The screen turned out great, and was easier to stretch than I expected -- I did it without any help and managed to get a nice wrinkle-free surface. Plan B was having similar material mailed up from the States, which would have been quite a bit more expensive and taken weeks. Really glad I found it locally, and with good service to boot.
